Xfinity is just Comcast rebranding cable internet to seem more competitive with fiber internet (FIOS). Fiber has more throughput than cable. From a use perspective Comcast has much lower upload speeds than FIOS (they allocate more of their limited bandwidth to downloads since that is what most people use) and is prone to slowing down during busy times of the day due to congestion. Xfinity beats out AT&T for the lowest-priced plan with a $24.99 per month sub-100 Mbps offering, while both companies offer 300 Mbps for around $50 per month.
